REVU 20
Revu 20 end of life,
31 December 2026.
Revu 20 has been out of support since 31 July 2026, and on 31 December 2026 it loses Studio. A perpetual licence keeps running on the computer it is installed on. These are Bluebeam’s dates and terms, what they change for a practice, and how markups and takeoffs move to Redline.
When does Bluebeam Revu 20 reach end of life?
Revu 20 reached end of support on 31 July 2026 and reaches end of life on 31 December 2026. After that date it can no longer use Studio Sessions, Studio Projects or API integrations. A perpetual licence keeps running locally, without support and without Bluebeam's cloud services; open and enterprise licences are deactivated.
Bluebeam's route forward is a subscription that includes Revu 21, at $260 to $590 per user a year, billed annually. If your practice uses Revu 20 to mark up and measure its own drawings, Redline Pro does that in a browser for $150 a year, Redline Plus covers markup with calibrated length and area for $90, and both read the markups already in your PDFs. Bluebeam's dates here are from its end-of-life notice, checked 29 September 2026, and its prices from its pricing page, checked 4 October 2026.
The dates
| Date | What changes, according to Bluebeam |
|---|---|
| 30 September 2023 | Bluebeam stopped selling Revu 20 licences. |
| 31 July 2026: end of support | No more technical support, and no self-service licence management, seat releases included. A perpetual licence can no longer be reassigned to a different machine. |
| 31 December 2026: end of life | Revu 20 loses access to Studio Sessions and Studio Projects, including joining them through an integration, and to API integrations. It no longer connects to Bluebeam's cloud services. Open and enterprise licences are deactivated on or before this date. |

Can I keep using Revu 20 after 31 December 2026?
Yes, if it is a perpetual licence, the kind whose serial number starts with 1. Bluebeam says a perpetual Revu 20 licence can be used after 31 December 2026 and will continue to run locally, but will no longer connect to Bluebeam's cloud services: no Studio Sessions, no Studio Projects and no API integrations. Since 31 July 2026 it has had no technical support, and it cannot be moved to another machine.
In practice the seat keeps doing local work on the computer it is on. It cannot join a Session a consultant invites you to, cannot open a Studio Project, and cannot follow you to a new computer. Bluebeam also says that using Revu 20 after its end-of-life date is at the customer's own risk, including for security vulnerabilities and interoperability problems (Bluebeam's notice).
What happens to the other Revu 20 licences?
| Licence, by serial number | After 31 December 2026, according to Bluebeam |
|---|---|
| Perpetual (starts with 1) | Keeps running locally, without Studio, API integrations or Bluebeam's cloud services. |
| Open (96) or enterprise (98) | Deactivated with no further access, on or before 31 December 2026. Where maintenance has expired, or the seat has moved to a Revu 21 subscription, it may already be deactivated. |
Academic and not-for-resale licences, and Studio Enterprise contracts, are covered separately on Bluebeam's end-of-life notice.
What does Bluebeam cost now?
Bluebeam has moved to subscription plans, each including Revu 21, and every plan is billed annually per user: Basics $260, Core $330, Complete $440 and Max $590 a year. These are the US prices on Bluebeam's pricing page on 4 October 2026. The Max price is marked introductory; on 29 September 2026 Bluebeam said it holds through a renewal in 2027, after which renewals move to a list price it has not yet announced.

Moving your markups and takeoffs to Redline
Everything moves through the PDF. Redline opens PDFs; it does not read Revu's own files, such as tool sets or profiles, and it has nothing like Studio.
- Get your drawings out of Studio before 31 December. After that date a Revu 20 seat cannot reach Studio Sessions or Projects, and Bluebeam says that reaching Studio data then needs Revu 21 and an active subscription (Bluebeam's notice). Save anything that lives only in Studio as PDFs on your own storage while Revu 20 can still get to it.
- Open the PDFs in Redline and import their markups. When a drawing already carries annotations, Redline offers to import them. Each one becomes a Redline markup that keeps its author, its comment or text, its subject and its replies, and clouds come in as clouds. Importing is on every plan, including Free.
- Calibrate each sheet. Redline does not read Revu's page scales, so each sheet is set again: drag along a dimension you know and type its length, or enter the drawn ratio. It takes about a minute a sheet. How to calibrate a drawing.
- Measure the quantities again. A Revu measurement imports as an outline that carries its comment and subject, not as a live quantity. Trace over it with Length, Area, Perimeter, Volume or Count on the calibrated sheet, and take openings out as deductions.
- Total it and send it. The markup summary subtotals by subject, space, status, layer or page, as a CSV for the estimate or a PDF for the record. Export a PDF with editable annotations for anyone still working in Revu, or a flattened PDF for a client. The takeoff method, step by step.
Calibrated length and area, the summary and editable export come with Redline Plus; perimeters, volumes, counts, deductions and the CSV come with Pro. Every account starts with 30 days of Pro, no card, which is long enough to move one live project across and check the numbers against Revu's before deciding. The Revu 20 switch offer runs for accounts opened by 31 January 2027.
Can Redline open markups made in Revu 20?
Yes. Redline reads the annotations already in a PDF on every plan, including Free, so the clouds, text boxes, notes, shapes and highlights saved into a drawing arrive as markups you can read, answer, restyle or delete, with their authors and replies. Measurements arrive as outlines rather than quantities, and are measured again once the sheet is calibrated.
What Redline does not replace
Studio. Redline has no shared live sessions: a drawing belongs to one account, and reviews travel between people as PDFs. It also has no OCR for scanned sheets, no batch processing and no scripting. If your practice runs Studio Sessions with consultants every week, a Bluebeam subscription is the direct continuation. Redline and Revu compared sets out the rest, point by point.
Does Redline run on an iPad or a Mac?
Yes. It runs in the browser, so the same tools work in Safari on an iPad or a Mac as on Windows, with nothing to install. Bluebeam retired Revu for iPad on 31 December 2025; what replaced it, and how Redline works on an iPad.

Try it on the sample drawing
Redline runs in the browser — nothing to install. Open the demo to try tools on a sample drawing. Demo edits are temporary; your own files, saving, signatures, exporting, printing and downloads come with an account, which starts with 30 days of Pro, no card. Then Free unless you choose Plus or Pro; your drawings stay. Plus is $9 a month or $90 a year; Pro is $15 a month or $150 a year. Compare the plans.
