New tools and improvements for PDF drawing review, patch by patch.

Patch 2026.10.25

25 October 2026

Print to scale opens your browser's print window, says what will come out before you print, and warns when a sheet would be cut off by the paper.
Revision compare opens with the earlier revision chosen, keeps the whole sheet clear of the colour key, and aligns two sheets by snapping to the drawing's own corners.
Editable PDF exports keep each page's scale, so a reopened file measures straight away. Erased content is removed from every export, not just hidden.
Measurements checked against the drawing: overlapping openings are deducted once, changing units keeps volumes and saved rates, and totals add lengths, areas, volumes and counts but never angles or radii.
Markup that behaves: pastes land under the pointer, a Cloud+ leader follows its cloud, the highlighter takes the colour you pick, and walls, pipes and ducts draw in the colours set on their bar.
Quicker to work with: click empty paper to clear the selection, Ctrl-click to add to it, Page Up and Page Down change page, Ctrl Z takes back a page change, and large sets with many markups stay smooth.
Your work is safer: if Redline is briefly unreachable, saves wait and go through on their own, and you are told when Redline has been updated so you can reload when you're ready.

Patch 2026.10.07

Safer sign-up and sign-in. Your password is set when you enter the code we email you, passwords known from public data leaks are turned away with a request to choose another, and repeated wrong guesses pause password sign-in for 15 minutes to keep your account safe.
A mistyped email domain is caught before anything is sent, with the likely correction suggested. If too many emails have been asked for at once, the form says so in plain words.

5 October 2026

New Redline Plus, at $9 a month or $90 a year, for clean review sets: clean and editable PDF exports, printing to scale, the markup summary, revision comparison, page tools and calibrated length and area, with up to 25 saved drawings.
Every account opened by 31 January 2027 starts with 30 days of Pro, with no card. Afterwards it moves to Free unless you choose Plus or Pro, and your drawings stay.
The pricing page sets out Free, Plus and Pro side by side, and Pricing in the menu opens it.

Patch 2026.10.04

Text boxes reflow: drag a text box wider or narrower and its words wrap to fit. Text is edited where it sits on the drawing, at its final size, colour and alignment, so nothing jumps when you finish.
Place two-point tools such as Length, Line, Arrow and Rectangle with a click at each end as well as by dragging. A closed shape finishes when you tap its first corner again, and any click-by-click shape finishes with a double click or a double tap, on a tablet too.
Measure a PDF online, free: open your own drawing, set its scale from one known dimension and measure lengths, areas, perimeters and counts. It needs no account, and the PDF is read in your browser, not uploaded.

Patch 2026.09.28

The editor now shares the drawing desk’s design: Redline’s colours, a warm dark theme, drafting icons, and restyled dialogs and panels. Arrowheads and dimensions are drawn the way a drafter draws them, with each figure set on its own plate.
Redline is on the Microsoft Store. Install it on Windows and it opens in its own window from the Start menu, with your workspace and drawings just as they are in the browser.

Measurements update the moment a sheet’s scale changes, and again on undo and redo. Changing units or decimals keeps a scale set from a known distance, and setting one scale for the whole set is a single undoable step that leaves sheets already calibrated alone.
Enter confirms a dialog and Escape cancels it. Stamps you make yourself keep their words and colour in every export, and importing a PDF again picks up the markups an earlier import made instead of adding them twice.
Editable PDF exports draw curved lettering just as the screen does, the markup summary prints counts as whole numbers, and zooming a large drawing is smoother.

Your drawing desk, redesigned. Every drawing is a sheet with a title block: its sheet number read from the file name (A101, A-101, A1.01), its discipline, folder, revision and when it was saved. An Index view lists the same sheets as a register, and ticking several lets you move or delete them together.
Your plan has its own title-block panel, with the days left in a trial, the drawings Free holds and the storage you have used. Drop a PDF anywhere on the desk to upload it.
Your account sits top right on the desk and in the editor, with your photo and a menu for your profile and photo, plan and billing, account settings, what’s new and help.
Once a drawing has markups, Export PDF becomes the editor’s main button, and a small card offers the export once for each drawing.

Find sheets by page number, PDF page label or bookmark title. Open internal PDF bookmarks directly, and keep page management controls in a compact expandable section.
Select similar markups by type, subject, stroke color or layer, then change their properties or delete them together. Only editable matches on the current sheet are selected; edits and deletion remain undoable.
Clearer tool selection, property sections, table rows and keyboard focus make the editor easier to read. Dark-mode text and borders now keep their intended contrast.
Command search skips unavailable drawing actions before a document is open. Tablet controls fit better, and dialogs stay within the screen.

Choose drawing review, takeoff or PDF editing on the home page to see which plan fits, then start with matching guidance in your workspace.
Reopen the Getting started guide whenever you need it. Your chosen workflow and collapsed guide are remembered per account in this browser.
Switch between email-link and password signup without retyping your email. Show or hide your password, see errors beside the form, and fill a complete verification code from your phone keyboard.
Pricing now explains trial endings, Free exports and storage limits more clearly.

The Pages panel lists every sheet from combined PDFs with cached previews and clearer page controls. Markup edits keep the thumbnail list and scroll position stable.
Page changes are protected against overlapping actions, retain the selected sheet, and recover more reliably from saving or loading failures.
Closed pen strokes, undo during dragging, mobile menus and keyboard page navigation are more reliable.

Create a new PDF from the workspace or File menu: choose paper size, orientation and up to 100 blank pages.
Copy high-resolution snapshots of visible PDF layers and markups, preserve transparency, and paste into another drawing. Optional white removal helps with scanned or white-filled backgrounds.
Save reusable material rates and waste allowances in your account library, then apply matching-unit rates to estimates in other drawings. Existing estimates keep their saved rates.
Find matching symbols across a page range or up to 100 pages. Review each page, exclude matches and add accepted counts in one undoable step. Same printed size and orientation; results require review.

Cost estimates: price measured quantities and counts with unit rates and waste allowances. Save rates with the drawing and download an estimate CSV.
Find matching symbols: select an example on the page, review same-size and same-orientation matches, then add selected results as editable counts. Results need human review.
Collapse the toolbar to give the drawing more space. Your choice is remembered; use Expand tools or select a category to reopen it.
A compact tool strip replaces unused rows and stacked utility buttons. Scroll arrows keep every tool reachable on narrower screens, with no duplicated tool categories.

Tools now have one home in four categories: Review, Edit PDF, Build and Takeoff. The overlapping Measure and All tools tabs have been removed.
Measurements, quantities and legends are together in Takeoff. Drawing shapes remain in Review, and Erase content is in Edit PDF. Select and Hand stay available as shared navigation controls.

Cloud+ now previews the callout before placement. Finish the cloud with Enter, move to preview, click to position the note, and type directly on the page. Enter saves; Shift+Enter adds a line; Escape cancels.
Adjust the text position and leader target using separate handles, even while the cloud and callout are grouped. Use Edit callout text or double-click the note to change its wording; Adjust callout opens its individual controls.

Cloud+ now creates a closed revision cloud with a text callout. Draw the boundary, press Enter to type your note, then click to position the callout.
The cloud and callout are grouped to move together and undo in one step. Existing saved Cloud+ markups keep their original appearance.

A dedicated Takeoff tab now sits beside Build, bringing the quantity tools into one place.
Set the scale, measure lengths, perimeters, areas and volumes, use Dynamic Fill, and check radii, diameters and angles.
Count items, renumber counts, multiply selections, deduct openings, define room zones and add legends. Create grouped PDF or CSV summaries and save reusable tool styles.
The compact two-row Takeoff toolbar scrolls horizontally on smaller screens to preserve drawing space.

Organize your workspace with private folders on Free and Pro. Create and rename folders, choose from eight colors or pick a custom color, and see drawing counts on each folder card.
Select drawings with checkboxes and move them between folders together. Browse All drawings or Unfiled and use search and sorting to find your work.
Deleting a folder keeps its drawings in Unfiled. Moving drawings preserves their edits and saved checkpoints.

A refreshed website introduces the workspace with clearer product explanations, updated typography and proportions, and illustrated Review, Measure and Build examples.
Public pages now share consistent navigation, colors and branding. The demo includes a Back to home link.
The sample demo lets you explore tools while downloads, printing and personal file imports remain restricted. Create an account to work on your own drawings.
After the seven-day Pro trial, Free keeps basic review tools and up to three saved drawings. Pro adds the full measurement and takeoff tools.
Expanded product guides and search information make Redline easier to discover and understand.

Draw or type a signature, save it privately to your account, and reuse it on your drawings. Manage saved signatures from the Signature button or Markup menu.
Move and resize placed signatures like other markups, and undo placement in one step. Signatures are editable marks, not certificate-based digital signatures.
Signature storage and PDF downloads require an account in the demo.

Upload PDFs directly from your workspace, search and sort saved drawings, and continue your most recently saved drawing.
Find tools in Review, Measure, Edit PDF and Build groups. All tools and keyboard shortcuts remain available.

Select markups with checkboxes, select all matching the list filters, and delete them together. Undo restores deleted markups.
Edit PDF text and objects: select supported existing text, shapes, images and annotations to change or delete them. Complex content and scanned text have editing limits.
Continue editing saved drawings from your workspace.
